R.onald Koeman expressed his confidence that Barcelona will improve in the future and especially if injured players like Sergio Agüero, Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele return to action.
Bayern Munich dominates at Camp Nou and took an emphatic win against Barcelona on Tuesday, with Koeman admitting their opponents are a better team with depth in the roster.
“There were only three strikers available,” said Koeman after the defeat.
“Tactically, there were moments when we were in control. Bayern’s game is in the middle third and you have to fill it [the gaps] there.
“For now it is what it is. I can’t complain about the attitude, but there is a quality difference.
“[Bayern are] a team that has been together as a group for a long time and also has a bank that has improved.
“We have a lot of young players who will be better in two or three years. It’s very difficult to accept that, but we have to wait for things to improve and for the players to recover from their injuries.”
“It is what it is, we have to spend a couple of weeks like this because we will get players like” later [Sergio] Aguero, [Ousmane] Dembele and Ansu Fati back. “
Koeman went on to point out that this is Barcelona Page needs patience and the gap between stronger teams will decrease in the future.
“There are players who are 19 or 20 years old,” added Koeman.
“When you compare them to the players [Bayern Munich] there is a difference. After a while the difference will be smaller.
“We know Sergi Roberto is not a winger and we play one on one against [Alphonso] Davies is impossible. The fans were phenomenal because I think they showed that they understand what was out there today. “
